Wilderness Progressive Pack Trips - Montana wilderness pack trips geared for the more avid camper and fisherman. Slightly more "rustic" than the pack trips to our base camp, these adventures offer a unique opportunity to visit destinations on the Lake Plateau (or in Boulder River country) which are not readily accessible by base camp visitors.

These 5 - 10 day trips provide the chance to camp and fish in some of the most beautiful areas in the Beartooth Wilderness. The Lake Plateau is unparalleled for scenic beauty and mountain lake fishing.

Wilderness Base Camp (Tent accomodations) - Our summer base camp is located in Placer Basin, between the West Fork of the Stillwater River and the Boulder River drainage within the Absaroka / Beartooth Wilderness. This is an excellent "high country" camp (elev. 9000+) that offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy wildlife and superb scenery while fishing, hiking or relaxing in a natural setting.

Our wall tents provide spacious, private sleeping quarters for couples or family groups and are furnished with lanterns and cots with foam pads. A camp shower is available. First class meals are served in the large, well-equipped kitchen tent. The camp is accessible by pack string and saddle stock from July 10th through August 31st. Fishing opportunities include headwaters of the East Boulder and West Fork of the Stillwater.
